Harris, a 39-year-old MMA star, lost his last fight in June 2021 against Marcin Tybura via technical knockout.
On March 4, Jon Jones will face Ciryl Gane in the main event of UFC 285 in Las Vegas. Heavyweight champion Walt Harris served as Jones’ coach.
A recent development reveals that Harris will soon return to the Octagon as well.
Harris, a 39-year-old MMA star, lost his last fight in June 2021 against Marcin Tybura via technical knockout.
“The Big Ticket” revealed his plans for a comeback in a recent YouTube video on Henry Cejudo’s channel.
Personal setbacks have marred Harris’ professional career. In 2019, his 19-year-old stepdaughter Aniah Blanchard was kidnapped and killed.
In the meantime, Jones and Harris’ training camp for UFC 285 is over. As he makes his debut in the heavyweight division, Jones intends to become a two-division champion in the UFC.
Since it will be Jones’ first fight in the Octagon since his victory over Dominick Reyes in February 2020, all eyes will be on him.
The fight with Ciryl Gane will be one of the most significant in UFC history due to his high reputation and talent.
Gane stated, “I’m lazy, that’s the truth,” when discussing his training approach prior to the major battle.
After fighting Tuivasa, I barely trained, and now that the fight with Jon Jones has been announced, I’m back at it.”
Jones tweeted on Thursday, “I smell a trap, either way, doesn’t matter, I’m training my a** off,” in response to Gane’s remarks.
