According to Catalonian newspaper SPORT, Premier League giant Manchester City has offered Bernardo Silva to Barcelona for €65 million. In 2017, Silva paid approximately €50 million to join the Citizens from AS Monaco, a club in Ligue 1. Since then, he has been a key player for them, helping them win 11 trophies in six years.

However, the Portugal international has recently made it clear that he wants to leave Manchester. For some time, Barcelona has been in talks to sign him. During the transfer window in the previous summer, the Blaugranas were said to be interested in signing Silva.

However, due to the failure of Frenkie de Jong’s proposed transfer to Manchester United, they were unable to pursue a deal. In January, it was said that Xavi’s team tried again to get the attacking midfielder. However, because Manchester City was unwilling to part ways with a key player in the middle of the season, nothing transpired.

Barcelona is determined to bring Silva to Camp Nou, despite their failures in the previous two transfer windows. At the end of the season, they are likely to try again to sign him. In the meantime, Manchester City appears to have accepted the fact that they will have to let him go this summer.

If they receive an offer of €65 million, the aforementioned source claims, they may approve a transfer for Silva. Silva is said to have been informed by Pep Guardiola’s team that he is free to leave the organization if their asking price is met.

According to the report, they have also informed his agent Jorge Mendes of the price. The Premier League team’s contract with the former Benfica star ends in 2025. As a result, the Citizens are eager to profit significantly from his sale before it’s too late.

According to SPORT, Silva has already approved a move to Catalonia. Mendes and the club’s president, Joan Laporta, are reportedly working together to facilitate the transfer. The Blaugrana do not appear to be bothered by Manchester City’s €65 million price tag. However, reaching an agreement regarding the player’s wages might be difficult.

At Etihad, Silva receives a net salary of €7 million each year. The giants of La Liga will have to pay €14 million annually to match Spain’s tax system. It remains to be seen whether the Blaugrana can accommodate the attacker’s demands for wage increases.
