    At the Ward Games, the bronze-winning ladies’ pairs team overcame a deficit to defeat Lanny Tria Mayasari and Ribka Sugiarto of Indonesia.

    Treesa Cheerful and Gayatri Gopichand kept the Indian flag flying by making it to the pre-quarterfinals of the Asia Badminton Title in Dubai on Wednesday, following the exit of star shuttler Lakshya Sen in the first round.

    At the Locale Games, the ladies’ duplicate group that won bronze recuperated from a loss to overcome Indonesia’s Lanny Tria Mayasari and Ribka Sugiarto, 17-21, 21-17, 21-18. The contest went on for more than an hour.

    The Indian group entered the second coordinate with a 5-0 lead after an unmistakable loss in the main match. To force a decision, they maintained their lead throughout. In the third match, the Indonesian team lost to Treesa and Gayatri 15-16, which was a difficult challenge.

    Sen Covers, a gold medalist at the Association Games who took a much-needed break to concentrate on his mental and real health, lost to world number seven Loh Kean Yew 7-21, 21-23. Sen Covers’ Forgettable Rebound Sen was supposed to compete with the No. 1 1 and an earlier champion.

    The Singaporean, who had lost to Sen in their previous match in the Indian Open final, raced to a 21-7 lead with quick court movements. Even so, Sen returned to the game with more composure and led by two concentrations at the break.

    When Sen scored a game point at 20-19, he had a chance to win, but Loh quickly took control. The couple then got together a few times. Malavika Bansod, a promising competitor, lost to Akane Yamaguchi, the world’s number one, 19-21, 23-25, after a 46-minute bout. Men’s Singles: Loh Kean Yew (Singapore) defeated Lakshya Sen 7-21, 21-23.

    Doubles for Men: Takuro Hoki and Yog Kobayashi (Japan) defeated Krishna Prasad Garaga and Vishnuvardhan Goud Panjala, 15-21, 17-21; Man Wei Chong and Kai Wun Tee of Malaysia defeated PS Ravikrishna and Sankar Prasad Udayakumar 12-21, 17-21. Single Females: Akane Yamaguchi of Japan defeated Malvika Bansod, 19-21, 23-25; Akarshi Kashyap was crushed by the Indonesian Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi, 6-21, 12-21.

    Women’s clubs: Ashwini Bhat and Shikha Gautam were defeated by Meilysa Trias Puspitasari and Rachel Allessya Rose (Indonesia) by scores of 20-22, 12-21, and 18-21; Thailand’s Jongkolphan Kititharakul and Rawinda Prajongjai defeated Haritha Manazhiyil and Ashna Roy 11-21, 2-21.

    Different Matches: In Malaysia, Rohan Kapoor and Sikki Reddy crushed Chan Peng Soon and Cheah Yee View as 21-12, 21-16.
