Asian games 2022 are postpone which were schedule to be taking place this September 10 to 25. The announcement regarding the same took place this Friday as the Covid-19 cases are increasing in China.
A further announcement about the Asian Games 2022 will be taking place in the near future. A new wave of Covid-19 has hit Shanghai and the officials have to post a lockdown in the city.
The discussion of the situation takes place by The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Executive Board in Taskent this Friday. And the decision of postponing the game rose up.
Asian Games 2022 Is Postponing Due To Covid Surge in China!
The OCA states, “Following detailed discussions with the Chinese Olympic Committee (COC) and the Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (HAGOC), the OCA Executive Board (EB) today decided to postpone the 19th Asian Games.”
“Which were scheduled to be held in Hangzhou, China from 10 to 25 September 2022. The new dates of the 19th Asian Games will be agreed upon between the OCA, the COC and the HAGOC and announced in the near future.”
The OCA said the HAGOC is preparing to deliver the Game on time even though facing numerous challenges.
The decision for postponing the season rolls out after taking the covid situation into consideration carefully. The games will be rolling out for the 11,000 athletes where there are going to be 61 games of sports.
China takes the decision to event cancel the 3rd Asian Youth Games which will be taking place in Shantou, China. The event dates for the tournament are December 20 -28, 2022. However, the further dates are not out for the event.
The next season of the Asian Youth Games will be rolling out in 2025 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Zhejiang’s capital is Hangzhou which has 3124 currently positive cases and one death which is increasing and so officials decided to postpone the Asian Games.
