One of six domestic first-class cricket teams in New Zealand, the Auckland cricket team plays for and represents the Auckland region. They have won 28 Plunket Shield titles, ten in the Ford Trophy, and the Super Smash four times, making them the most successful team. They are governed by the Auckland Cricket Association. At the moment, the team holds its home games at Eden Park Outer Oval.
The Auckland Aces, a limited-overs team, wear a mostly light blue uniform with navy and white trim. Ford sponsors their One Day Championship shirts, while Mondiale is their primary T20 sponsor.
In the 18th season of the Men’s Super Smash T20 League, Northern Knights and Canterbury will meet for the first time on December 23 at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
The double round-robin format of the tournament will consist of 32 matches, including the final. The top three teams will decide who goes to the playoffs. The elimination final will take place on February 9, 2023, while the Super Smash 2022-23 final will take place on February 11, 2023.
