    Australia vs South Africa boxing day test day 2: David Warner completed 5 thousand runs at home

    Australia’s dashing batsman David Warner, playing the 100th Test, scored a double century against South Africa on Tuesday, the second day of the ongoing Boxing-Day Test in Melbourne. This is his third double century.

    Warner retired Hart after scoring 200 runs. He got hurt as soon as he scored his double-century and went out of the field. Australia scored 386 runs for three wickets till the end of the day’s play in the first innings. His total lead has reached 197 runs.

    Travis Head returned unbeaten on 48 and Alex Carey scored 9 runs at the stumps. While Cameron Green retired hurt on a personal score of 6 runs. For South Africa, Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortya took one wicket each. South Africa’s first innings ended with 189 runs on the first day.

    David Warner completed 5 thousand runs at home

    Warner completed his 5,000 runs in Australia during an amazing inning in the Boxing Day Test against South Africa. He has become the 5th Australian batsman after Ponting, Border, and Waugh brothers to do so.

    Before the double century, Warner scored a century after 1089 days. This is Warner’s 25th Test century. Warner scored his last century on 3 January 2020 against New Zealand at the Sydney ground.

    David Warner has completed 8,000 runs in his 100th Test. With this, he has become the 8th batsman to score the most runs for Australia. Before him, only 7 Australian batsmen have achieved this position in Test cricket.

    Earlier, David Warner became the third cricketer after Lara and Ganguly to play his 100th Test as a Boxing Day Test. He is the 14th player to play 100 Tests for Australia.

    Temba Bamuwa was dismissed after scoring 1 run. 6 players of the team could not cross the double figure. The team had lost 5 wickets for a score of 67. Australian bowler Cameron Green has taken the maximum 5 wickets. Mitchell Starc took 2 wickets. Scott Boland and Northen Lyon got one wicket each.

    At the beginning of the day, Australia won the toss and decided to bowl first. The Kangaroo team is on a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. He won the first match by 6 wickets. The third and last match of the series will be played at the Sydney ground from January 4.

    After losing 5 wickets at 67, Kyle Verenne-Marco Johnson took the team’s score to 150. Both shared a 112-run partnership for the sixth wicket. In this partnership, Kyle contributed 48 off 85 balls and Johnson contributed 58 off 134 balls.

    After these two, no batsman could touch the double figure. Keshav Maharaj got out after scoring 2 runs, Kagiso Rabada 4 runs, Lungi Ngidi 2 runs. While Enrique Notreya remained unbeaten after scoring 1 run.

    Marnus Labuschagne took a brilliant catch. Khaya Jondo got out after scoring 5 runs on this catch. Jondo hit a hard shot off Stark’s ball. The shot was so fast that the ball reached Labushen within 3 seconds.
