This stadium, located to the north of Sydney Harbour, is best known as the home of the North Sydney Bears rugby league side. St Leonard’s Reserve was first used for cricket in 1867 and became the home site of the North Sydney Cricket Club in 1894-95. For many years, the pitch was unplayable at the start of the season due to continuous usage for rugby league and rugby union in the winter, but modifications in the 1980s made the facility more useful for both summer and winter sports. The Bob Stand was reused from the SCG, and a new stand named after women’s international cricketer Mollie Dive was created.

North Sydney Oval’s major claim to cricketing fame now is that it has hosted the first match of New South Wales’ Mercantile Mutual Cup season since 1992-93. The ground’s diminutive size lends itself to high-scoring one-day matches, and NSW uses it for many of its one-day matches. Although the stadium has a capacity of roughly 20,000 people, only around 9000 of them are seated, with the rest standing on grass banks. Many of the stands from the SCG have been moved. With five big pylons, the pitch may be utilised for both day and night cricket, as well as other sports.

Pitch Report of North Sydney Oval Sydney Stadium

This stadium is located to the north of Sydney Harbour and is best known as the home of the rugby league side North Sydney Bears. St Leonard’s Reserve was first used for cricket in 1867, and it later served as the home ground for the North Sydney Cricket Club from 1894 to 1895.

Because it had been continually used for rugby league and rugby union throughout the winter, the surface was unplayable at the start of many seasons, but repairs in the 1980s made it considerably more useful for both summer and winter sports.

The Bob Stand was removed from the SCG, and a stand in honour of women’s international cricketer Mollie Dive was built in its place.

Weather Forecast of North Sydney Oval Sydney Stadium

Because the weather in England is unpredictable, it is hard to forecast whether the batting team or the bowling side would dominate the match. In most test or ODI matches, teams choose to bat first.
