Australian opener Aaron Finch and fast bowler Pat Cummins will not play for Kolkata Knight Riders in the first 5 matches of IPL 2022.
Both the players are part of the Australia tour of Pakistan. Pat Cummins leading the Australian side in Test format. Third and final test is going on between PAK and AUS.
After the Test series, both the players will be part of their3 match ODI and 1 match T20 series. where Aaron Finch will lead the side in white-ball cricket. Tour will end on the 5th of April 2022. Both players will join the KKR team without facing quarantine. Because they will move bio bubble to bio bubble.
KKR will start their Indian Premier League 2022 campaign against the current champion Chennai Super Kings in the opener of Tata IPL 2022. Kolkata Knight Riders were the runner-ups of IPL 2021.
Their 5 matches will complete before the joining of both the Australian star. KKR is going to play very quice initial matches. 5 matches is a big number to play without the stars. Every single match decides the way of playoff this is the nature of the IPL tournament. Hence this is a big blow for KKR.

Kangaroos Test captain is a very important part of Kolkata Knight Riders as well. KKR has shown faith again for him. KKR paid INR 7.25 crore to back him and make him part of their franchise again.
Pat Cummins is a very utility player of T20 format. His all-around ability brings a balance to the team. Everyone knows he is one the fastest and best bowler in the world in the current era. His ability to bat in lower middle order brings something extra. Last year he had some brilliant innings down the order, with a good strike rate.
He will become more dangerous now because he is coming with good form and as an Australian Test captain. He had shown brilliant bowing performance in home Test series against England and also here in Pakistan he is at his best.
Aaron Finch
Aaron Finch has been roped in by Kolkata as a replacement for Alex Hales. He was unsold in the mega auction but the unavailability of Hales opened the opportunity for him.
Australia is a current champion of the T20s. They are the winner of the last T20 World Cup. Captaincy of Finch has made them a champion for this mega event.
He is an experienced player. He has played for many franchises in the IPL as well. His current confidence in winning the World Cup will definitely help the Kolkata Knight Riders to succeed in their campaign this year.
