What Happened to Hardik Pandya? Illness, Injury
According to the Cricbuzz, Hardik Pandya Suffered an Injury to his left ankle while bowling in the match against Bangladesh in Pune Last month. He was undergoing rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru before it was confirmed that he would be unable to take any further part in the ongoing tournament.

Insiders attempted to downplay the injury, suggesting it was only a minor issue, and that he would make a quick comeback. Following his absence from the game against New Zealand in Dharamsala, the BCCI, on its part, had announced that he would rejoin the team in Lucknow for the match against England.
