The Gun Game mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 brings back the classic Call of Duty mini-map, marking clients with red dots at whatever point they shoot a gun.

The Gun Game mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 included the classic COD mini-map into the game. A few COD fans have criticized developer Infinity Ward for not reverting to the classic Call of Duty mini-map in the Modern Warfare 2 game.
For those unaware, Modern Warfare 2 doesn’t mark foes as red dots on the map at whatever point they shoot, as it just displays them at whatever point a UAV is active. This means that players cannot sort out the exact position of their opponents when they shoot from a gun without a silencer, likely stirring up a lot of disappointment for some Call of Duty clients. Presently, it appears as though this classic mini-map exists in Modern Warfare 2, but it is by all accounts limited to one game mode.

As reported by Dexerto, the Gun Game mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 features the classic rendition of the mini-map, allowing fans to see red dots at whatever point a foe discharge a weapon. This has been a controversial topic in Modern Warfare 2, as certain fans want this mini-map to turn into the standard again in Call of Duty games, while Infinity Ward states that it doesn’t want to rebuff players for shooting their weapons.

So the Minimap works like it is supposed to in Gun Game? 🤣🤣🤣 pic.twitter.com/UTVrEDYIpG

Gun Game works differently from a regular 6v6 match of COD: Modern Warfare 2, which may be the reason for it having the classic mini-map. In a match of Gun Game, clients are tasked with killing foes with a progression of guns altogether, with the aim of turning into the fastest player to burn through all available weapons. While Gun Game has been a part of several COD games, it was previously included in Modern Warfare 2 alongside Infected and Drudgery.

Activision added a separate playlist only for Infected last week, with Drudgery and Gun Game currently getting their own playlists in Modern Warfare 2. Furthermore, Infinity Ward affirmed Drop Zone, All or Nothing, and One in the Chamber will be added in Season 2 of Modern Warfare 2, providing players with a variety of game modes to try out with the season.

Season 2 also added a couple of maps to Modern Warfare 2, but the center 6v6 maps weren’t entirely new, as Dome is based on a more established map while Valderas Exhibition hall was present in the beta prior to getting mysteriously eliminated. While Season 2 adds a lot of content, it’s improbable for any of these maps or modes to get the classic mini-map, as it seems to be exclusively for Gun Game.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is accessible now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
