    Before the IPL 2025 mega-auction later this year, the Indian Premier League (IPL) indicated updated player retention criteria.

    Retention and the Right to Match (RTM) options allow each franchise to keep up to six players under the new rules.

    It is possible to keep as many foreign players as you like.

    There is a five-capped player maximum per team and a two-cap player maximum per team. 

    In the IPL retention policy, an Indian player with a cap may be eligible to be deemed uncapped. if the player hasn’t played cricket internationally or had a BCCI contract in the previous five years. This rule was applicable from 2008 until 2021 before being repealed.

    It is all about the new retention policies introduced by the federation for the IPL 2025 auction. Now we will move forward and lighten up CSK retained players 2025.

    Chennai Super Kings is one of the greatest teams that also won the IPL trophy five times. It is likely to retain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, a former captain, as an uncapped player. This possibility results from the IPL’s decision to bring back a 2008 regulation that permits Indian players to bid as uncapped players if they have retired from international cricket for at least five years before the next season. 

    Super Kings are also going to retain the most famous death-over specialists, Matheesha Pathirana. Apart from this, one of the best all-rounders from the Indian Cricket team, Sir Jadeja and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad are also likely to feature on the retention list.
