India defeated New Zealand 3-0 in the one-day international series. The two teams will play their first of three T20I matches on Friday, January 27 at 7 p.m. in Ranchi. The Kiwis have never defeated India at home in a T20I series. Because many of the home team’s regulars won’t be in the series, New Zealand might be excited about their chances.
However, Team India will begin the series as a favorite despite not having rested Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, or KL Rahul because they are always a formidable opponent at home. India will have a lot of new players for the T20I series, but ODI regulars Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been left out.
Hardik Pandya, an all-rounder who has been in excellent form with both the bat and the ball, will once more be in charge of the T20 team. Prithvi Shaw has been selected by India to represent them after more than a year and a half. The aggressive opening batter, who has done well in domestic cricket, will probably get a chance.
Suryakumar Yadav is, of course, India’s batter to watch out for. He has been one of the world’s best T20 batsmen, scoring a stunning 112* off 67 balls against Sri Lanka earlier this month. This was his third century in 45 T20Is, during which he has struck out 180.34 times and averaged 46.41 runs.
