Following Beth Mooney’s withdrawal from the inaugural Ladies’ Head Association due to a calf injury, Indian all-rounder Sneh Rana was given command of the Gujarat Monsters.
Sneh Rana, an India all-rounder, was appointed lead trainer of the Gujarat Beasts on Thursday after Beth Mooney’s calf injury prevented her from participating in the remainder of the inaugural Women’s Central Affiliation.
On March 4, at the DY Patil Stadium, the Australian suffered the injury while batting against the Mumbai Indians in the tournament’s opening match.
Mooney’s return to full fitness is likely to take four to six weeks.
“The first WPL season of the Adani Gujarat Giants was very exciting for me.” Mooney stated in a press release, “I am gutted to be missing the remainder of the season, but unfortunately, injuries are a part of the sport.”
“On the other hand, I’ll be there every day to support the group and carefully observe their exhibit from a distance.
I stated, “I’m looking forward to returning stronger, fitter, and with a lot more hunger next season,” despite the fact that I won’t be on the field for the remainder of the season.
Laura Wolvaardt was picked by the Gujarat Goliaths to succeed Mooney. Wolvaardt, a one-of-a-kind opener, recently helped South Africa win the 2023 Ladies’ Twenty20 World Cup.
Wolvaardt led South Africa to the T20 World Cup final, where they lost to Australia, with three half-centuries from six matches.
