West Zone stormed into the final of the Duleep Trophy 2023 after playing out a draw with Central Zone in the semi-finals at the KSCA Cricket Ground on Saturday. South Zone defeated North Zone by two wickets in the second Duleep Trophy 2023 semi-final at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

A heated result was expected on the final day of the semi-final between South Zone and North Zone as overcast skies graced the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. When play resumed at 3:50 pm only 32 runs were needed and six wickets in hand, but the only thing standing in the way of a South Zone victory was light. Because they had taken the lead in the first innings, North only needed a draw to secure a match against West Zone in the 2023 Duleep Trophy final. Sai Kishore hit two sixes, one of which won his side, helping South Zone chase down the target despite North Zone’s best efforts to slow down the game in the closing stages.
However, West Zone qualified for the final on the basis of their first innings lead. When Central lost both their openers in the first nine overs, any aspirations they had of chasing down West’s mammoth target were immediately dashed. Despite a strong performance from their middle-order batsmen, Central failed to complete their target as rain interrupted play. With these results, it is confirmed that South Zone will take on West Zone from 12 July at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
