In the Rawalpindi Test, England defeated Pakistan by 74 runs to win the first of three Test matches. On day five, England took five wickets to win the match.

In the first of three Test series in Rawalpindi, England defeated Pakistan in the final day-final session to win, marking only their third victory in Pakistan.

With less than 15 minutes remaining in the day’s play, England stopped Pakistan from scoring 268 runs by defending 343 runs in the match’s final innings. The best bowlers were Ollie Robinson and James Anderson as the ball finally did some tricks on a wicket that had been scrutinized earlier in the game.

Pakistan was 257/5 going into the third session of day five, with Agha Salman and Azhar Ali in the middle. The Decision Review System (DRS) awarded England the lbw after Agha (30 off 64) fell to a reverse swinging ball from Ollie Robinson. The show was on.

The first ball was bowled at Naseem Shah, but the bails did not fall. Nasser Hussain said, “Lower your back lift, Naseem Shah,” while Ollie Robinson was standing in shock.
As Azhar Ali dropped to the right arm quickly, he hit a reverse swinger straight at Joe Root at leg slip, giving Robinson his chance.

England had been offered a new ball, but they had declined it because the old ball was reversing. a good choice that paid off once more.

After that, Jimmy Anderson struck twice quickly, picking up Haris Rauf and Zahid Mahmood within three deliveries. Mahmood tried to glance at it when Anderson hit him with a short kick to the rib cage, but he pushed it down his leg, allowing Ollie Pope to complete a diving grab. Rauf was given an lbw by the 40-year-old on the first ball. To conclude the match, Jack Leach rapped Naseem Shah around his pads.

Ben Stokes and his team won the toss and chose to bat first. In the first innings, they scored 657 runs thanks to four centuries from Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, and Harry Brooks.

Pakistan responded by scoring 579 runs, with hundreds coming from Abdullah Shafique, Imam-ul-Haq, and Babar Azam.
After scoring 264 runs in just 35.5 overs to set up a total of 343, the visitors would increase their lead in the first innings to 343 runs.

The second Test between the two teams will begin on Friday, December 9 in Multan.
