MLS side Entomb Miami are supposedly enthusiastic about delegating previous Barcelona mentor Gerardo Goodbye Martino as their new supervisor as they proceed with their quest for Lionel Messi.
According to Marca, TUDN journalist Luis Omar Tapia, Martino is the front-runner to succeed Phil Neville, who was fired by the Herons on Friday (June 2). After his team was eliminated from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in the group stage, the Argentine coach recently resigned from his position as head coach of the Mexico national team.

Given his extensive coaching experience with teams like Barcelona, Argentina, Atlanta United, and Mexico, Martino is an intelligent choice. He has won the MLS Cup and the Supercopa de Espana. Miami hopes that Messi will move to the DRV PNK Stadium as a result of his appointment.

From 2013 to 2016, the legendary Argentine played for La Abiceleste under Martino’s direction. During his tenure as Barca manager from 2013 to 2014, he also made 46 appearances for the coach.

The 35-year-old Messi is wanted by the Herons and will be leaving PSG when his contract ends at the end of June. They have admired the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner for a long time, and David Beckham owns the MLS franchise.

Miami’s previous chief Neville conceded in February that the club were keen on Messi and his previous Barcelona partner Sergio Busquets, telling The Times:

“I won’t deny (it and say) there isn’t truth in the hypothesis that we’re keen on Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets. I believe Miami has been linked to every top football player in the world since I joined.”

Al Hilal and Barcelona, on the other hand, are competing with the Herons for Messi’s signature. When it comes to their desire to re-sign the legendary forward, the Blaugranas have made their intentions abundantly clear in public. In the meantime, Al-Za’eem is said to want to announce his potential signing on June 6.

Lionel Messi left Camp Nou in 2021 because the Blaugranas were unable to afford a new contract for their iconic attacker, according to the manager of Barcelona. During his time in Catalonia, he won the Ballon d’Or six times, scoring 672 goals and 303 assists in 778 games across all competitions.
Barcelona would have rather not lost their popular No.10, yet monetary intricacies prompted a sad flight for the Argentine. However, ever since he joined PSG, rumors of a possible return to the Blaugrana have persisted.

Xavi, the manager of Barca, has confirmed that his team wants to bring Messi back, and he even has a plan for the Argentine:

“He is aware of our readiness to receive him. There is no change. We stand a chance. We need Leo here. Allow him to choose. I am willing to incorporate him into our system.”

Messi has been in great structure for PSG this season, scoring 21 objectives and giving 20 aids 40 games across contests.

On Saturday, June 3, he will make his final appearance for the Ligue 1 champions when they play Clermont Foot at the Parc des Princes. As he leaves Paris, he will then make a decision about his future.
