According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal defender Pablo Mari will join Serie A side Monza on a permanent transfer in the summer. Mari, who is currently on a season-long loan at Monza, will complete the transaction for £6 million. Romano wrote about Twitter:

Pablo Mar’s permanent transfer to Monza, a Serie A team, will result in Arsenal receiving a £6 million purchase price. Personal terms have been settled, and the deal is done and sealed.” Mari, 29, moved from Flamengo to the Gunners on loan in January 2020 before becoming a permanent fixture in the summer of that year.

He has only played 22 games at the senior level for the North London team. Mari has primarily spent time on loan at Flamengo, Udinese, and now Monza since joining the Emirates. He has played 27 games this season for the Italian team, which is 10th in Serie A.

Mari is unlikely to get many opportunities at Arsenal because of the strong performances of players like William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes. The Heavy armament specialists likewise eminently marked Jakub Kiwior from Spezia in January.

Concerning Jakub Kiwior and Gabriel’s injury, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta :

On May 2, in the Premier League, Arsenal defeated Chelsea, a rival in London, 3-1 at the Emirates. It was a vital success as they quickly returned from a four-game winless run. Against the Blues, Jakub Kiwior made his debut for the Gunners in the Premier League. Manager Mikel Arteta commented on the Polish center-back’s performance after the game. He said (through Arsenal.com):

He appeared fresh, prepared, and extremely determined. He has been improving every day, not only in training but also in interaction and language. “I signed him because he’s more settled and a player I really like. He has the potential at his age to be perfect and he had a major undertaking against the players he needed to confront today, and I figure he didn’t all around well.”

However, Trusty will face an uphill battle to feature for Arsenal. Being a left-sided CB, Gabriel is certainly ahead of him in the pecking order. Additionally, Jakub Kiwior has just been signed as Gabriel’s backup. It looks more likely that Arsenal and Trusty will both be… pic.twitter.com/HdajqGfo2O

After Rob Holding struggled during Chelsea’s 4-1 loss to Manchester City last week, Kiwior took his place in the lineup. In a strong performance, he made four clearances, three interceptions, and one tackle. In contrast, Gabriel Magalhaes sustained an injury and was substituted out of the game. Arteta stated the following regarding the defender’s injury:

“He wasn’t at ease. We pursued for 10 or 15 minutes however he was unable to carry on which is odd for Gabi. So we are a piece worried about that on the grounds that ordinarily he’s not one that needs to leave the pitch.” With William Saliba already out for six games with an injury, the Gunners will hope Gabriel’s injury isn’t too bad.
