Pakistan skipper Shan Masood impressed spectators on Friday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) with a fluent half-century in the fourth innings of the ongoing Boxing Day Test against Australia.

The Men in Green got off to a shaky start, losing opener Abdullah Shafique for four in the fifth over while chasing a lofty total of 317.
Masood came out to bat at No. 3 and batted with tenacity under pressure. The southpaw struck 60 runs off 71 balls, giving his team hope of a historic Test win on Australian soil.
His devastating innings came to an end in the 27th over, when he was caught at second slip by Steve Smith off the bowling of Pat Cummins.

Pakistan got off to a flying start in the second innings, as their pacers cut through Australia’s top order. The hosts were in a perilous circumstances, trailing at 16/4 at a single point.
If Abdullah Shafique had held on to Mitchell Marsh’s catch at slip in the 16th over. Australia would have been in big trouble. Marsh capitalized on the opportunity, scoring 96 runs.
Alex Carey and Steve Smith both contributed critical half-centuries, scoring 53 and 50 runs, respectively. On Day 4, Australia was knocked out for 262, giving Pakistan a 317-run goal.
