Oxlade-Chamberlain was a highly regarded midfielder when he joined Liverpool in 2017 after making a name for himself at Arsenal under Arsene Wenger. The Englishman was expected to play a major role for Liverpool, but those hopes were dashed very quickly. He suffered a serious knee injury toward the end of his first season at the club, which kept him out of action for a whole year.

Concerns about Oxlade-Chamberlain’s fitness and form have prevented him from playing much this season. He has played just eight association matches this season, and three additional in different rivalries. In 2020, he helped Liverpool win the league.

    #4 Phil Jones (Manchester United)

Phil Jones has been a Manchester United player for more than a decade, making him the club’s oldest player. Jones joined the club in 2011 from Blackburn Rovers, signing with the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson as a teenager.

Jones had a good start at the club because he worked with Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic. He played in a variety of roles at the club due to his versatility, but injuries slowed his development. In 2013, he won the league title. Jones’s career was ruined by a couple of knee injuries.

Between January 2020 and September 2021, the most serious of them kept him out of the country for twenty months.
Jones played his last association game for Manchester Joined in May 2022 against Brentford. Under Erik ten Hag, the defender was not included in his club’s Premier League squad. He has not included at this season and will see out his agreement without a solitary match.

    #3 Naby Keita (Liverpool)

In 2018, Liverpool paid a hefty fee to acquire Guinean midfielder Naby Keita from RB Leipzig. However, the midfielder has not performed as well as expected for Liverpool. Keita is expected to leave Anfield free of charge this summer after moving there for more than £50 million.

During the course of his five-year contract, the midfielder’s time in the Premier League was marred by a number of injuries. He has only appeared in eight games this season and has never played more than 25 league games for the Reds in a single season. He won a medal for his role in Liverpool’s 2020 league championship victory.

After being left out by Jurgen Klopp, Keita has not played for Liverpool in any of their last three games. This season, the Guinean international has only started league games for the Reds.

    #2 Ilkay Gundogan (Manchester City)
