On Sunday, a snake was found at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, where India was playing South Africa in the second Twenty20 International of a three-match series. The problem happened after the seventh over, and the ground staff took the snake off the field.

This is also one of the strangest things that have ever stopped a game. There have been other bizarre things in the past, too. In 2019, a Test match between India and New Zealand in Napier had to be stopped because it was too bright outside. During a Ranji Trophy match in Delhi in 2017, a car drove around the field, and the game had to be stopped. During a Test match between South Africa and Bangladesh, lunch was delayed by 10 minutes because the people who were supposed to bring food were late.

    The 2nd T20I

In the second T20I, the away team won the toss and chose to bowl. Despite a fantastic ton by Miller, India won by 16 runs. But this was a small difference, given the Men in Blue put 237 runs on the board in just 120 balls! Nonetheless, India is leading the 3-match series against South Africa by 2-0*. This would be a massive boost in confidence before the T20I WC in Australia.

Ahead of the match, captain Rohit said, “Yes (Would have fielded as well). Just want to come out, play some good cricket and entertain the crowd. We have never beaten (speaking of a series win) these guys here and it’s gonna take a lot of effort from everyone to do that and we have come out prepared and pretty much ready for the game.”

“Not too sure how the conditions will be. When I touched the pitch there was some stickiness and we gotta be a little cautious at the start. We got solid batting line-up and it will be a challenge upfront. We are playing the same team.”

    The 1st T20I

On Wednesday, the home team won the first T20I by eight wickets. India reached 110 for two in 16.4 overs while trying to reach a goal of 107. KL Rahul hit 51* runs off 56 balls. Suryakumar Yadav, on the other hand, hit 50 runs off 33 balls without being out as well.

At first, Keshav Maharaj’s 41 runs off 35 balls helped South Africa get to 106 for 8 in 20 overs. That day, Arshdeep Singh was in great shape and ended up taking three wickets. Moreover, Deepak Chahar and Harshal Patel each took two wickets.
