High Court asks Badminton Association of India for a Wild card Entry : On August 15 a special hearing by the Aurangabad bench of Bombay High Court code directed BAI to consider wild card entry. BAI- Badminton Association of India was directed to grant a wild card entry to 18-year-old badminton players.
The decision was made to allow him to participate in an international tournament that is going to be held in Pune from 30 August. The decision was made after Bai officials committed many errors that led to his exclusion from the list of eligible players.
Player, Parthmesh Kulkarni short for urgent hearing and relief in the procedure of including the names of eligible players. The list of eligible players for the India Junior International Grand Prix 2022 was to be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Monday 15 August.
Kulkarni’s name wrongly written in the female list
Justice Ravindra Ghuge and Justice Arun Pandekar heard the petition by the player. In the petition, informed by advocates Amol Joshi and Sanket Jadhav that their client has filed the participant’s application form on time but the name didn’t appear on the eligible list.
When enquired with electronics communication he got to know that his name was excluded erroneously from the female player list.
The advocates also stated and submitted to the court that Kulkarni’s name was deducted from the female list but was not added to the male list. Informed that Kulkarni was not faulted yet submitted the applications with correct details before the deadline.
Considering this petition the bank stated that mistakes committed by the Bai led to a said error. it is clear that rotational cannot be folded. We hold that if there is no MP demand the traditional player should be entitled to play at Pune on August 30 by giving him a wild card entry. If permissible or this is subject to the policies or guidelines of badminton Asia.
