    Hockey India announces a cash prize to boost the Indian team’s morale before the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023. Hockey India.With an end goal to additionally rouse the Indian men’s hockey group, which is holding back nothing execution at the FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s Reality Cup 2023 Bhubaneswar-Rourkela in January, Hockey India on Wednesday declared monetary rewards for the players and the care staff.

    The players of the Indian team led by Harmanpreet Singh will receive INR 25 lakh each from the National Governing Body for Hockey for winning the gold medal in the prestigious quadrennial event, while the support staff will each receive INR 5 lakh.

    In the 1975 championship match in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, India defeated Pakistan to win their first World Cup title.A silver medal would bring in INR 15 lakhs for the athletes and INR 3 lakhs for the campaign’s backers.

    Harmanpreet and his team will each receive INR 10 lakhs if they win a bronze medal, while the support staff will receive INR 2 lakhs.

    The Hockey India Executive Board made the aforementioned decision during a virtual meeting on December 24, 2022, with the intention of further motivating the Indian Team for the prestigious competition, in which 16 of the best teams in the world would compete for honors.

    India has won three medals previously at this renowned competition. The team won the title in 1975, a Silver Medal at the Amstelveen Hockey World Cup in 1973, and a Bronze Medal at the inaugural competition in 1971.

    Last week, Hockey India made the announcement of the 18-member team that will represent India at the 2023 FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup in Bhubaneswar-Rourkela. The Indian team, which is in group D with England, Spain, and Wales, will play their first game on January 13, 2023, against Spain at the newly built Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela, followed by a game against England.
