The Three Lions were dealt some harsh penalties that appeared to be foul despite receiving two of them. After losing to France 1-2 in their World Cup quarterfinal match on Saturday, England suffered yet another heartbreak. In contrast to France, the Three Lions produced a dominant performance but failed to capitalize on their opportunities.

After beating Jordan Pickford from a long distance, Aurelien Tchouameni gave the defending champions a lead in less than 20 minutes. France led by one goal at the half, but England got a penalty kick from Bukayo Saka that their captain Harry Kane successfully converted. England led by one goal at the half.

Olivier Giroud restored France’s lead as the clock wound down. He headed in an incoming cross from Antoine Griezmann and it took Harry Maguire’s deflection to get past Pickford. After a lengthy VAR check for a shove against Mason Mount, England was given another penalty in the game’s final stages, giving them another chance to equalize.

However, Kane’s attempt to send the ball over the crossbar effectively ended England’s campaign in Qatar and prevented him from repeating what he had done just moments earlier. However, among England’s current and former footballers, Wilton Sampaio’s poor refereeing became a topic of conversation.

The Three Lions were dealt some harsh penalties that appeared to be foul despite receiving two of them. Saka was actually knocked down by the first goal, a counter, but the referee let the game go on. This was just one of many instances in which dissatisfied England players criticized the referee.
Gary Neville, a famous England player, wrote on Twitter: Ref is a prank!

The former England footballer went on ITV to express his thoughts on the subject after the game and said, ” I thought he was having a terrible nightmare. satire about a referee. I’m not saying that England’s defeat was entirely to blame—some will make excuses—but he’s just a terrible referee.
Even though this was said by someone who was watching the game, the players on the field were also unhappy with Sampaio’s behavior.

The referee, according to England star Jude Bellingham, told ITV: If I’m being honest, it’s not great. Players and officials alike can experience poor performances. He probably wasn’t at the level necessary for a game like this today, in my opinion. Harry Maguire, a defender, shared similar sentiments, telling BBC. Really, really poor.

    Ref is a joke!

In the first 15 minutes, there were five, or six fouls, but no yellow cards. Prior to the first goal, it was a foul on Bukayo. I really can’t go into detail about how awful his performance was. I won’t go into too much detail for fear of being fined. But he never gave us anything, even though the big decisions were wrong; throughout the game, he was really bad.”

However, England manager Gareth Southgate did not criticize officials. The England manager stated to ITV, “( It is pointless for me to enter that. I would rather discuss our players. France deserves praise. They are aware that they have participated in an incredible game. We couldn’t have done anything more, in my opinion.
