ILT20’s organizers are “closely working with different boards” to avoid schedule conflicts.

ILT20’s organizers are “closely working with different boards” to avoid schedule conflicts: A top official from the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) told Reuters that the organizers of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) International League T20 (ILT20) are working closely with cricket boards around the world to avoid scheduling conflicts as much as possible.

The International League T20 (ILT20), which will have six teams, will start in 2023. Each team will play the other teams twice in the league, and then there will be four playoff matches. From January 6 to February 12, the tournament will be held.

The UAE’s ILT20 will start simultaneously as the first games of the CSA T20 League, Big Bash League (BBL), and Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

Mubashshir Usmani, the general secretary of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB), said that the tournament would take place between January and February because playing conditions in the UAE are at their best during that time of the year.

    Usmani’s Opinion

“While this window suits our purpose, we are closely working with different boards toward minimizing date clashes,” he added.

Usmani also said that they are working closely with Cricket Australia, Cricket South Africa, and other cricket boards to avoid significant scheduling conflicts.

“We are working with Cricket Australia, in fact, we are in touch with all the relevant cricket boards, to minimize any major clashes,” Usmani said.

“We do want Australian as well as any other available players to be involved with the league. Our team has been working alongside players, players’ agents, and various boards to seek and secure the necessary approvals for those identified to participate in the league’s inaugural edition,” he said.

The International League T20 (ILT20) will be the second most lucrative T20 league in terms of player pay after the Indian Premier League (IPL). Each team will have two local players and nine players from outside of the host country.
