    In the first Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction on Monday, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur of the Indian women’s cricket team sold for Rs 1.8 million to the Mumbai Indians.

    Harmanpreet, is well-known for her aggressive style of batting and slow off-spin. Was the second bidder in the auction and the first buy for the Mumbai franchise.

    MI and Royal Challengers Bangalore engaged in a brief bidding war, but MI prevailed in the end. Together with her India teammates, Harmanpreet was watching the auction. When the bidding was over, the room erupted in applause.

    Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Mumbai Indians to acquire Smriti Mandhana for Rs 3.40 crore in the inaugural Women’s Premier League auctions.

    Deepti Sharma, an all-rounder was acquired by UP Warriors for Rs 2.6 crore. Is the Indian player who has cost the second most money thus far.

    “Mandhana and Perry are well-known to everyone, and we were pretty committed to the two people we wanted.

    We are delighted to acquire such high-quality players. During a media interaction, RCB Director of Cricket Mike Hesson stated, “Getting Mandhana, Perry, and Devine is a dream result for us.”

    “It is highly likely that Smriti will be the captain,” stated Ashleigh Gardner, “Smriti has a lot of experience as a captain and is familiar with the conditions in India.”

    An off-spin all-rounder from Australia was one of the top picks in the first round and was purchased by Gujarat Giants owned by Gautam Adani for Rs 3.20 crore (USD 386,000).

    RCB made a winning bid of Rs 1.70 crore (USD 205,000) for star Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry. Who also got New Zealand skipper Sophie Devine at a base price of Rs 50 lakh.

    RCB has already spent Rs 5.60 crore out of a total of Rs 12 crore. In order to fulfill their obligation to field a 15-player squad. They will need to acquire an additional 12 players using the remaining Rs 6.40 crore.

    Additionally, for Rs 1.80 crore, UP Warriors brought in England’s left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone.
