India is all set for ICC T20 World Cup 2022 with its splendid lineup: Expected Squad

India is all set for ICC T20 World Cup: The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 is knocking on the door. The tournament is all set to begin on the 16th of October, 2022. It is the 8th T20 cricket world cup that has been scheduled between 16 October 2022 and 13 November 2022 in Australia. Initially, the tournament was supposed to be held in India in October and November 2021. However, the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed in July 2020, that the tournament had been postponed to 2022, due to COVID-19. In August 2020, the ICC announced that Australia would host the 2022 tournament.

Expected Indian Squad among the following players:

    • Rohit Sharma
    • KL Rahul
    • Shikhar Dhawan
    • Virat Kohli
    • Suryakumar Yadav
    • Shreyas Iyer
    • Rishabh Pant
    • Dinesh Karthik
    • Hardik Pandya
    • Ravindra Jadeja
    • Bhuvneshwar Kumar
    • Yuzvendra Chahal
    • Jasprit Bumrah
    • Deepak Chahar
    • Kuldeep Yadav/Axar Patel
    • T Natarajan

Rohit Sharma is all set to lead the Indian team this time after taking over from Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli decided to step down as captain after the T20 World Cup in 2021. Rohit took over as India’s Test captain and so he is India’s all-format captain now.

Rohit will be the opening batsman along with KL Rahul. Virat has opened the batting in the past and so he might be another option as a potential opener. If Virat opens, Rahul can be dropped to number three and one among Suryakumar Yadav or Shreyas will be India’s number four. SKY has an upper hand in that race than Iyer given his ability to play 360 degrees around the wicket. Iyer was one of the standby players in the 2021 T20 World Cup for India but is expected to be in the main squad this year.

One among Pant and Karthik will be the designated keeper for the Indian squad for T20 World Cup 2022. Karthik is a finisher and thus Pant offers to bat himself at number five. He can also bat at four if required.
