    During the first India-Australia Test in Nagpur, Ravindra Jadeja broke Kapil Dev’s record for the most wickets in a match.

    Ravindra Jadeja scored a brilliant half-century on Friday in the first Test match between India and Australia in Nagpur, continuing his excellent run of form. On Day 1.

    Jadeja was the hosts’ wrecker-in-chief with a five-wicket haul, and with his fifty, he beat India legend Kapil Dev to set a huge record.

    Jadeja now leads the list of Indian players who have achieved a similar feat, surpassing Kapil Dev, who has done so four times in his career, with five wickets and a fifty in a Test match for the fifth time.

    On the second day of the first Test against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium here on Friday.

    Rohit Sharma’s thumping and the unbeaten half-centuries of Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel contributed to India’s 321 runs at the loss of seven wickets at the stumps.

    After tea, the session resumed at 226/5 and India lost their prized captain Rohit Sharma, who was bowled out by Australian captain Pat Cummins for 120. With 229 runs in their score, India lost their sixth wicket.

    The hosts lost their seventh wicket for 240 runs when debutant KS Bharat joined Ravindra Jadeja at the crease.

    However, Bharat was run out for eight by another debutant, Todd Murphy. Murphy, a rookie, scored his five-wicket haul.

    Jadeja was joined at the crease by Axar Patel, who increased the team’s total beyond 250 runs. Jadeja, the comeback man, also reached his half-century.

    India increased their lead to 277 runs thanks to the partnership of Jadeja and Patel. Additionally, the duo expanded their partnership to 50 runs.

    India reached the 300-run mark, increasing Australia’s stress. After Axar made a half-century, India took a 144-run lead with 321 runs for 7 wickets at the end of the day.

    Rohit hit Australia, captain Pat Cummins, for a six in the 32nd over of the innings earlier in the day, pushing India’s total past the 100-run mark.

    When Scott Boland didn’t give up a run in the 38th over of the innings, he started putting pressure on his side.

    After that, India suffered a serious setback when Ashwin was run out by Todd Murphy in 23 of 62 deliveries. Cheteshwar Pujara, a right-handed batter, came out to bat and slammed Murphy for an excellent four.

    On Murphy’s delivery, Rohit struck a stunning six through midwicket to begin the 43rd over of the innings. Murphy struck again for India, dismissing Pujara for 7 in the 45th over of the game, continuing his excellent form. India was 42 runs out of the lead at this point.

    At the plate, Virat Kohli batted first. Virat and Rohit lost by three wickets at lunch, bringing the team total to 151.

    Rohit Sharma led Team India from the front with a magnificent century at the time of Tea, and Ravindra Jadeja (34) was unbeaten at the crease, making India’s score 226/5 in 80 overs.

    India started off poorly, starting the post-lunch session with a score of 151/3. After the lunch break, Todd Murphy removed Virat Kohli for 12, hit the deck hard, and he gave his team a huge breakthrough on the first ball. Murphy, a rookie, took his fourth wicket.

    Suryakumar Yadav, a right-handed batter making his debut, then came out to bat at the plate. Against Murphy, Suryakumar executed a sweep shot that sent the ball to the backward square leg region for a four.

    Rohit Sharma consistently scored boundaries while maintaining a tight grip on one end.
    In the 60th over of the game, India was in a vulnerable position at 168/5 when Nathan Lyon bowled a stunning six to dismiss debutant Suryakumar for 8 runs.

    Lyon brought Australia back into the game with this wicket. Ravindra Jadeja, a star Indian all-rounder, then took to the field to bat.

    Rohit scored his much-needed century with a solid four over the infield in challenging conditions in 171 deliveries. The captain of India scored his ninth Test hundred.

    Jadeja and Rohit smashed Australian bowlers all over the field while consistently scoring singles to keep India in control. In the 77th over of the game, the star all-rounder and the captain of India put together the crucial partnership of 55 runs off 107 deliveries.

    As Rohit and Jadeja guided India to a 49-run lead over the visitors at tea, India’s lead began to gradually grow.
