Indian Test specialist Mayank Agarwal has been called for the only Test match between India and England to be held from July 1, 2022. Mayank Agarwal’s inclusion was done as a reserve player for the Test match after KL Rahul was injured. Although Mayank did not leave for the UK with the other players of the team. Now that captain of team Rohit Sharma has become COVID infected, the team management has decided to call Mayank to England.
Agarwal has left for England on Monday. Mayank Agarwal has also shared his photo after boarding the flight on his Instagram account. In which he also wrote that he is flying to Birmingham.
Mayank Can get a chance for opening
Most probable Mayank is all set to get a chance to open the innings with Shubman Gill. Both Prime openers with KL and then Rohit was not available in the only remained Test, Captain of Punjab Kings may be included in the playing XI and he can open the Indian innings. Although there are 3 days in the match, In such a situation, there is some possibility that if Rohit recovers, then he may play the match.
He will join the team directly
Mayank Agarwal will be directly joining the team. He will not have to remain in quarantine. Agarwal has started the innings in Tests for Team India many times in the past and his record is also good, but due to poor form in IPL 2022, Agarwal was not given a chance in the Indian team.
