    India nearly secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the Asia Mixed Team Badminton Championships in Dubai on Wednesday with a 5-0 victory over the United Arab Emirates.

    After assisting India to a 5-0 victory over Kazakhstan in their opening match on Tuesday, star players P V Sindhu and H S Prannoy were rested.

    On Wednesday, Lakshya Sen and Aakarshi Kashyap emerged victorious in the singles events for men and women, respectively.

    Sen was India’s first starter, and in just 31 minutes, he defeated Dev Vishnu 21-16, 21-12.
    India took a 2-0 lead after Aakarshi outplayed Madhumitha Sundarapandian 21-6, 21-7 in just 26 minutes.

    Dhruv Kapila and Chirag Shetty won the men’s doubles match 21-15, 21-14 against Dev Ayyappan and Dhiren Ayyappan to make it 3-0.

    India defeated the United Arab Emirates 5-0 on Wednesday to almost guarantee a place in the quarterfinals of the Asia Mixed Team Badminton Championships in Dubai.

    PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy, who helped India defeat Kazakhstan 5-0 in their opening match on Tuesday, were rested.

    On Wednesday, Lakshya Sen and Aakarshi Kashyap emerged victorious in the singles events for men and women, respectively.

    After that, the women’s doubles team of Ashwini Bhat and Shikha Gautam and the mixed doubles team of Ishaan Bhatnagar and Tanisha Crasto won easily over their opponents to complete the formalities.

    Ishaan and Tanisha defeated Latheesh Bharath and Rajesh Nayonika 21-13 21-8, while Ashwini and Shikha defeated the UAE team of Sanika Dhawan and Akansha Raj 21-7 21-4.

    On Thursday, India will play Malaysia in their final Group B match, which will be their most difficult game.

    The quarterfinals will be decided by the top two teams from each group of four teams.
