Yashasvi Jaiswal’s, the team’s opening batsman, acknowledged his disappointment with the way he was dismissed on the first day of the second Test against the West Indies in Trinidad on Thursday. He did, however, emphasize that he is ready to grow and learn from his mistakes.
Jaiswal struck nine fours and a six to score 57 off 74 balls. Together with Rohit Sharma (80 off 143 balls), they amassed 139 runs for the first wicket. However, the former made a bad shot that cost him his wicket. He pursued Jason Holder’s wide delivery and suffered the price for it.
After the play on the first day ended, Jaiswal gave a news conference to discuss his firing.
“I’m obviously disappointed, but that’s cricket. I must continue to study and prepare myself for the next time I encounter that circumstance. Cricket, it’s okay, he said.”
The 21-year-old continued, “My goal is to bat for as long as I can and contribute significantly to the team’s cause.
“I always want to make sure that I can play well for the team and contribute well. Every game is played with the intention of providing the team with a strong foundation. I always aim to bat for a long time whenever I bat,” Jaiswal continued.

In the opening game of the series in Dominica, Jaiswal had an outstanding Test debut, making 171 runs off 387 balls.

Jaiswal, a young player, has a much to learn and is fortunate to have people like Virat Kohli and captain Rohit around, in addition to head coach Rahul Dravid.
The child explained that he tries to choose what is best for his game when processing the vast amount of information that he receives.
“Everyone has a unique perspective on events, and everyone has experience. I’ll thus pay attention to everything that is mentioned, determine what matches my game, and try it out. When I’m with folks who have experience, I can tell when they’re talking because they’ve given it some thought. I truly enjoy hearing them, trying to determine what would work for my game, and trying to improve my game. It’s amazing to absorb knowledge, experience, and other tiny things from them,” he explained.
Day 1 of the Trinidad Test ended with India at 288/4, with Ravindra Jadeja on 36 and Virat Kohli at 87.
