Jason Holder and Alzarri Joseph will leave the Zimbabwe ODI World Cup Qualifier early to prepare for the forthcoming India series in July-August. Desmond Haynes’ West Indies squad has opted to recall two key bowlers from Zimbabwe early in order to limit their workload.

The series will begin with two Tests qualifying for the ODI World Cup were dashed by dismal performances against Scotland, Zimbabwe, and the Netherlands. Holder and Joseph are set to play pivotal parts in the forthcoming season. Holder and Joseph’s early comeback will be critical in fortifying the West Indies squad and showing their abilities in a tight battle.

The pair has been one of the West Indies’ few bright spots in an otherwise terrible World Cup Qualifiers. Joseph, 26, leads the squad in wicket-taking with eight in five games, while former captain Jason Holder has been outstanding with both bat and ball. In five games, the all-rounder has averaged 36 with the bat and taken six wickets.

“We need to band together as a region,” says Jason Holder.

Former West Indian captain Jason Holder had strong words for West Indian cricket after the team was unexpectedly knocked out of the 50-over World Cup for the first time in their illustrious history.

The two-time world champions were eliminated from qualification for the showpiece tournament later this year after losing three successive games against Zimbabwe, the Netherlands, and Scotland.

According to the latest update  about  Jason Holder and Alzarri Joseph

They both are going to leave the ODI World Cup qualifier in Zimbabwe early to get prepared for the month-long all-format series against India at home in July-August.

Both All-rounders of the team West Indies will return early from the ICC World Cup Qualifiers in Zimbabwe to prepare for the home series against India. West Indies Cricket has acknowledged this in an official statement. The decision to send Holder and Joseph home early was made due to the workloads ahead of the all-format series against India, which begins on July 12.

The West Indies also failed to qualify for the T20 World Cup in Australia last year, while they narrowly qualified for the ODI World Cup four years ago. The team is ranked tenth in the latest ICC ODI rankings and outside the top six in the T20 and Test formats.
