His mother was barely 19 when she gave birth to him, and she raised him by herself. In spite of severe financial difficulties, she tried everything in her power to help her son realize his dream of playing basketball in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

At his alma mater, Chaminade College Preparatory School, he was widely considered to be one of the best basketball players in the school’s history.

Additionally, he was considered a top-tier prospect, earning a perfect score of five stars. His season-long point-per-game average as a junior in college was 13.3. At the high school level, he averaged 26 points per game as a sophomore and 29.6 points per game as a senior.

His first stop after graduating from high school was “Duke University.” He was sidelined for the team’s opening several contests by a foot injury suffered in the preseason. Because of his great performance in the 2017 ‘NBA Draft,’ the ‘Boston Celtics’ choose him to join their roster. After a year of impressive play, the NBA announced in May 2018 that he had been named to the league’s “NBA All-Rookie First Team.”

    Childhood & Early Life

Jayson Christopher Tatum, the son of Justin Tatum and Brandy Cole, was born on March 3, 1998, in St. Louis, Missouri. Jayson Christopher Tatum is the full form of his name.

Both his mother and father were only 19 when he was conceived, and none of them was married. His mom decided to raise him on her own once he was born. However, anytime they required assistance, his father was there to provide it.

His father, Justin, spent several years as a member of the basketball team at St. Louis University. Then he moved on to St. Louis, where he taught PE and coached basketball at “Christian Brothers College High School.”

His mom went to ‘St. Louis University’ and graduated with a law degree; she then worked as an attorney. She struggled to provide for Jayson, though, because she was still a college freshman at the time.

When Jayson was little, he picked up a basketball for the very first time. His father played basketball at the collegiate and high school levels, and his godfather was NBA player Larry Hughes, who had played with and mentored his father.

As he matured, Jayson rose to a towering stature that served him well in his chosen profession as a professional basketball player. His father told him repeatedly that basketball was the only sport he should be playing. As a result, Jayson’s early exposure to the sport sparked a lifelong passion for it. By the time he was a teenager, he was up against players who were both bigger and more seasoned than he was.

When Jayson first arrived at Chaminade College Preparatory, he quickly became one of the best basketball players on the varsity team. Matthew Tkachuk, an NBA player, was a friend of his throughout their time together in high school. Jayson’s basketball career got off to a good start because of this.

    An NBA Career

Boston Celtics general manager Danny Ainge executed a controversial trade to get Jayson, who was taken third overall in the 2017 NBA draught. His first taste of professional basketball was with the Celtics at the 2017 NBA Summer League in Utah. As expected, Jayson lived up to the hype, averaging 18.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.3 steals, and 2.0 assists per game.

He also excelled in other tournaments, earning him a spot on the “All-Summer League Second Team,” alongside stars like Bryn Forbes and Kyle Kuzma.

In his first “NBA” game, which was played against the “Cleveland Cavaliers,” he scored 14 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, becoming the league’s newest double-double specialist. Despite this, his side lost the game by a final score of 102-99.

However, in October of 2017, against the “New York Knicks,” Jayson had his finest performance of his career, scoring 24 points and making a major impact on his team’s victory. He was named the Eastern Conference’s “Rookie of the Month” for the month of December 2017.

    Family and other personal matters

The man Jayson is deeply spiritual and religious. He grew up in a Christian household with strong religious values. Everything he’s accomplished and become famous for, he says, is because of Jesus Christ.

Jayson has been praised by NBA great LeBron James, who has said of him, “he’s built for fame.”

He has a great friendship with current NBA player and former teammate Harry Giles during their time together at Duke.

Jayson and Samie Amos have been spotted together in public on multiple occasions. However, there have been rumours circulating recently that the couple is on the verge of parting up. A social media post by Samie in which she accused Jayson of cheating on her proved the rumours to be true.

It became apparent after some time had gone that he had cheated on Samie with Toriah Lachelle. It’s been said that he and Toriah are expecting a kid.
