Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid finally got a ring. And though it’s not the NBA championship ring he yearned for, the one he got this weekend was even more special.
Embiid married girlfriend Anne de Paula on Saturday, with Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin confirming the longtime couple’s union on Instagram. Rubin shared a photo of the two from their wedding, in which the Sixers star and her SI swimsuit model are seen smiling after the ceremony. Her son Arthur was behind the celebration of this incredible occasion.
Rubin wrote on his IG story with the photo: “Congratulations [Joel Embiid], [Anne de Paula] love you guys so much.”
Exactly what a year it has been for Joel Embiid.
The Sixers center is coming off a season in which he won the NBA MVP for the first time in his career. He has been the runner-up for the past few years, but he has finally been able to beat out Nikola Jokic for the honor. Although he certainly would have preferred to win the championship more, the MVP honor is a great testament to the amazing work he has done over the years.
