London Spirit Franchise - History, Honours, Players, and More: The 100-ball cricket team London Spirit is based in North London.

    History

When the new eight-team men’s and women’s tournament series for 2019 was announced, it caused some controversy. Players like Virat Kohli criticized the England and Wales Cricket Board for trying to move away from Test cricket, while others said the format should have been like the popular Twenty20 tournament. The ECB, on the other hand, thought it needed a more unique layout to get people to come.

In August 2019, the team announced that former Australian spinner Shane Warne would be the first coach of the men’s team and that former Australia Women coach Lisa Keightley would be the first coach of the women’s team.

In October 2019, the first Hundred drafts took place. Rory Burns was the top pick for the Spirit in the men’s draft, and Heather Knight was the top pick for the Spirit in the women’s draft. Eoin Morgan, who is the captain of the England One-Day team, and Dan Lawrence, who played for Essex, joined them on the men’s side. Freya Davies will join Knight on the women’s side.
