MLC 2023 Most Runs and Most Wickets. Nicholas Pooran and Trent Boult at the top of the table after final match between SEA and MINY.

The blockbuster final match of the MLC 2023 edition began at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas between Seattle Orcas and MI New York.

The ruthless side of Nicholas Pooran flattened a powerful Seattle bowling attack by a crushing margin of seven wickets with 24 balls to spare in the high-octane clash.

Earlier today, Orcas scored 183 while batting first, led by Quinton de Kock’s 87 off 52, with Shubham Ranjane and Dwaine Pretorius providing useful cameos. Trent Boult was fantastic, taking three wickets for 34 runs in his brief, but Rashid Khan was the star of the bowling department, taking nine wickets for three runs in four overs.

MINY went off to a terrible start, losing Steven Taylor early for a duck, but Nicholas Pooran came in and got into his act right away, chasing a tremendous score of 184 for the win. He bludgeoned his way to a 16-ball fifty, carried to an incredible hundred, and single-handedly carried his side to victory.

Brevis and Jahangir made useful contributions and scored critical runs, but it was all Nicholas Pooran tonight in Texas. The Seattle Orcas were the best team all season but fell at the final hurdle. Their bowlers performed admirably throughout the event but were completely outmatched by one man, Nicholas Pooran.

Following the conclusion of today’s final, MI New York has been proclaimed the inaugural Major League Cricket champions. Nicholas Pooran of MINY led his team to their first MLC title with a stunning 137* off 55 balls.
