On July 24, 3 AM IST, the thirteenth match of the inaugural MLC round began between MI New York and Washington Freedom. Los Angeles Knight Riders defeated the powerful Seattle Orcas earlier in the day by a slim score of two wickets.
Los Angeles was able to make amends by defeating the table-toppers in their final game. The bowlers gave up a lot of runs in the final innings, enabling Seattle to score an unfavorable total of 171.
Los Angeles’s batting appeared to be in complete disarray in response as they lost their top four batters in quick succession. However, Rilee Rossouw’s heroic effort enabled LAKR to prevail in a suspenseful thriller.
The match between Washington and MI New York came to a lopsided conclusion. Despite scoring a respectable 160 points, Washington was no match when it came time to bowl.
Their bowlers made numerous attempts but were only able to take two wickets. With 27 balls in the air, MI New York was able to comfortably advance toward their goal because of their careless bowling.
Washington Freedom maintains its second-place ranking after the two matches with an NRR of 0.097. The group has formally qualified for the playoffs. In contrast, MI New York maintained their chance in the playoffs and advanced to the third spot with an NRR of 1.319.
Seattle Orcas retain their position at the top despite their defeat against the Knight Riders. The team has an NRR of 0.806 and has officially made it to the playoffs.

Washington Freedom is defeated by 8 wickets because of Nicholas Pooran’s incredible feats
When Freedom batted first, Gous and Short gave them a strong start, but the slower bowlers from MINY applied the breaks and reduced them to 57 for 3 in the ninth over. After a quick start, they struggled to score boundaries and were choked over the middle overs. Following that, Glenn Phillips and Moises Henriques batted wisely and easily milked runs.
After the 15th over, they started to score, adding 77 runs for the fourth wicket. Although Jansen, Pienaar, and Akeal Hosein contributed a combined 24 off 10 balls to drag Freedom to a useful first-innings total, both batsmen were dismissed in the 19th over.
The final four overs produced almost 55 runs, helping Washington eke out a 160-run total. For most of the innings, MINY bowlers maintained tight bowling and did not concede any runs.
The floodgates, however, began to open at the end of the innings, as they lost nearly 14 runs per over in the final four overs. With two wickets, Pollard led the group of bowlers, while the others each contributed one.
With an above-average aim already set, MI New York needed a strong opening, which they received from their local openers Monank Patel and Shayan Jahangir.
Monank Patel (44 off 29) and Shayan Jahangir (29 off 21), who contributed 67 runs in only seven overs for the opening wicket, gave MINY a quick start in their chase of 161 to win.
Pooran came in at three and continued the runs at a good clip when Akeal Hosein ended the partnership and removed Patel. In the 12th over, Jahangir left the field, and Pollard joined Pooran (62* off 33) in the middle. The pair comfortably carried their team to victory by hitting 53 runs in just over 26 balls.

After winning the toss, the Knight Riders chose to field first. The Seattle Orcas were making good headway and had a strong start to their innings. But against the grain of play, they dropped a few wickets during the power play and ran into some difficulties.
He maintained one end and made sure the innings did not fall apart. Jayasuriya helped the Orcas to a decent total of 170 runs for the cost of six wickets in their 20 overs by staying unbeaten at 60 off 45.
However, Rilee Rossouw remained composed and won the game. With five balls left in the game, he was still going strong at 78 off 38 deliveries, ensuring that Knight Riders would win by two wickets.
