New BMW M3 Touring Safety Car debuts at Goodwood. The new BMW M3 Touring Safety Car makes its public debut at the Festival of Speed Hillclimb just in time for Silverstone.
BMW M GmbH celebrated its 50th anniversary by showcasing several high-performance vehicles at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The car was based on the first-ever BMW M3 Competition Touring with M xDrive and featured a special livery in recognition of BMW M’s 50th anniversary and the company’s longstanding association with MotoGPTM.
The presentation was also the world premiere of the vehicle before its first race at the Monster Energy British Grand Prix at Silverstone in August.

The first BMW M3 Competition Touring with M xDrive (combined fuel economy 10.4–10.1 l/100km according to WLTP, CO2 emissions 235–229 g/km according to WLTP)* made its world debut at Goodwood, and now it serves as the basis for the newest member of the safety vehicle fleet. It’s a five-door touring model with the same cutting-edge electronics, performance, and expertise as the BMW M3 and M4.

The next logical step for us is to add this new high-performance car to our MotoGP safety car fleet. With the BMW M3 Touring MotoGP Safety Car, we continue a longstanding tradition of sending the latest BMW M models to the MotoGP circuit as part of our cooperation with Dorna Sports, the rights owner for the MotoGP series.”
The new BMW M3 Touring MotoGPTM Safety Car pays homage to BMW M’s 50-year history and the company’s longtime connection with MotoGPTM through its design. The safety car is decked out in a commemorative 50 Years of BMW M Livery and features a running list of all safety vehicles used in MotoGPTM races since 1999.
During races, the BMW M3 Touring MotoGPTM Safety Car will be fitted with all BMW M Performance Parts has to offer. Recaro race seats, 4-point harnesses, safety cross beams, roof lights, front flashes, emergency disconnectors, and fuel extraction systems are just some of the other upgrades made to the MotoGPTM safety cars.
