    The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Zaka Ashraf, has resigned from his position before the two-week extension of his post. His decision to resign was announced during a CMC meeting in Lahore, which will be significant news for cricket fans.

    Ashraf, the Pakistan Cricket Board chairman, has been leading the CMC since July. The government had also given him an extension from November to 4th February, but now he has already resigned from CMC after a week’s extension.

    Zaka Ashraf is a well-known Pakistani executive administrator, born on 9 September 1952 in Mandi Bahauddin, Punjab, Pakistan. As of January 2024, Zaka is only 71 years old.

    Ashraf, who is related to both PTI politician Shafqat Mehmood and PML-N politician Choudhary Jaffer Iqbal Gujjar, has been appointed as the Chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board. He will assume the position on 6 July 2023 and hold it until 19 January 2024.

    Three days after the CMC meeting was stopped by the ministry, Zaka resigned. During the meeting, Ahraf’s accomplishments were discussed, with particular attention given to the significant contribution of PCM from the ICC.

    In August 2012, Zaka Ashraf was also appointed as the Chairman Development Committee of the Asian Cricket Council Chairman’s Development Committee.

    He is the son of Chaudhary Muhammad Ashraf. His father is a Pakistani politician and businessman.

    Ashraf was appointed as the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board twice. Firstly, he was reinstated on 15 January 2014 by the Islamabad High Court.

    In June 2023, he was again appointed as the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board by the Pakistan Peoples Party in the presence of Najam Sethi.

    At a CMC meeting, Ashraf expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for his trust in him. He also wished the Pakistan Cricket Board success in its future endeavors. Zaka, who has always been known for his honesty in his professional career, was also present at the meeting.
