According to L’Equipe (via GFFN), in a dramatic turn of events, PSG manager Christophe Galtier is preparing for a legal battle over claims of racist remarks. An email attributed to former Nice director Julien Fournier, who has since left the club, set off the storm.
Galtier’s lawyer issued a statement to “refute the claims in the strongest terms,” and he has vehemently denied the allegations. Galtier’s legal team is getting ready to file three complaints with the Paris public prosecutor early next week as the plot gets more complicated.
The main will target Fournier, Romain Molina, who at first released the email in a video, and RMC’s Daniel Riolo, who supported Molina’s report. They will be accused of libel in this complaint.
The “risk of harm to others” will be the subject of the second complaint, and Galtier’s bullying and death threats after his phone number was shared on social media will be the subject of the third.
Sources near Galtier have communicated shock at the responses from both Quite Fournier. Nice distanced themselves from the situation in a carefully worded statement, emphasizing that neither Fournier nor Galtier are currently associated with the club. Additionally, they noted (via AS):
“At the time of the events, this situation was treated with the utmost seriousness. The club won’t say anything more.
The now progressing lawful adventure could be a high-stakes standoff with possibly vocation modifying ramifications for all gatherings included.
PSG’s Kylian Mbappe needs to remain in Paris
By reiterating his commitment to PSG, Kylian Mbappe has ended the rumors about his future.
The striker expressed his desire to remain with the French club in an interview with France 3 (via Caught Offside), despite persistent rumors linking him to Real Madrid:
“What’s next? Winning the Bosses Association. I have already advanced to the final, semifinal, quarterfinal, and Round of 16 competitions. I’ve tried everything except winning. That is all I want. Where should I carry it out? in France. I’m a Parisian and under agreement.”
Mbappe is focused on winning the Champions League, which has eluded him and PSG, despite Real Madrid’s monitoring of him. Mbappe is aware that he has a lot of work to do because PSG’s competition record hasn’t been great in recent years.
Real Madrid may soon be considering signing the youngster, whose contract expires in 2025. However, Mbappe will continue to play for PSG and strive for European glory if he keeps his word.
