The Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated the Gujarat Giants (GGT) by a massive 143 runs on March 4 to kick off the historic inaugural season of the ongoing Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023. Ranking the jerseys of all five WPL 2023 teams.
The MI team continued their winning streak into Monday when they beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Brabourne Stadium by nine wickets.
Similar to how the Indian Premier League (IPL) revolutionized men’s cricket, WPL 2023 aims to usher in a new era for women’s cricket.
At least one game has been played by each of the five franchises thus far. While RCB and GGT have not yet joined the WPL points table, the MI and Delhi Capitals (DC) are currently in the top two.
The revealing of jerseys has always been a special part of the tournament, and this year there have also been some stylish cricket kits. For the main event, each team wears a different uniform.
In light of this, let’s rank the jerseys of all of the teams competing in the ongoing WPL 2023.
#5 Gujarat Giants
Gujarat Giants (GGT), number five on our list, may have the least appealing jersey of the five.
The shirt is transcendently orange in variety and highlights an Asiatic Lioness plan on the front.
The lion on their front drew comparisons to the well-known lion of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), despite the fact that the entire orange color of their uniform divided opinion on social media.
GGT will attempt to rebound in the tournament, as they are currently at the bottom of the table.
#4 UP Warriors
One more new establishment with no Indian Chief Association foundation, UP Warriorz featured an extraordinary recognition in their pullover.
Yellow is the primary color of the jersey. On the sleeves, a darker shade of purple highlights the silhouette of Rani Laxmi Bai, a well-known freedom fighter and the epitome of women’s power.
It will undoubtedly rank among the franchise cricket jerseys with the highest level of thoughtfulness.
#3 Delhi Capitals
The Delhi Capitals (DC) women’s team wore a uniform that was nearly identical to the men’s team’s.
The other half of the jersey is a darker shade of red, with blue being the primary color. On the front, it also has a roaring lion.
The outfit has a stunning appearance due to the shining colors red and blue and the gradient effect. Meg Lanning is in charge of DC, which beat RCB by 60 runs on Sunday to get their season off to a great start.
#2 Mumbai Indians
On February 25, the Mumbai Indians (MI) were the first team to reveal their jersey in advance of the tournament.
The Mumbai-based team wore a blue shirt with a hint of orange on the side to differentiate itself from the men’s team.
The distinctive MI Blue & Gold color scheme was created by Monisha Jaising. It includes a touch of coral as a nod to Mumbai’s stunning coastline, sunsets, and the energy of the sun.
#1 Royal Challengers Bangalore
Despite the fact that Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) was the last of the five franchises to display their jerseys, the wait was well worth it for the fans because their uniform appears to be perhaps the best in the women’s division.
The men’s team’s well-known red and black colors were still featured on the RCB jersey. The top of the shirt is black, but there is a shade of red near the waist, giving it a sophisticated appearance.
Below the chest, a gold line runs through the middle of the jersey and deviates from the upper half’s all-black section and the gradient red-black texture.
The combination of the shirt and the entirely red trousers looks great.
