Tyrell Malacia is a Dutch professional footballer born in Rotterdam to Curaçaoan and Surinamese parents.
Career
Feyenoord
Malacia joined the Feyenoord youth academy at the age of nine in the year, 2008. He signed his first professional contract on 2nd December, 2015. He won a 2–1win against Napoli in the UEFA Champions League on 6 December 2017. Malacia made debut of his Eredivisie for Feyenoord in a tie (1-1) with SC Heerenveen on 13 December 2017.He was in one of five Feyenoord players who were included in the competition’s Team of the Season.
Manchester United
Malacia signed a four-year contract with Manchester United on 5th of July 2022. Manchester United paid him an initial fee of €15 million (£13 million), and an extra €2 million (£1.7 million) in add-ons.

Manchester United’s new signing Tyrell Malacia joined the club with words of true wisdom from the two icons from Netherlands still persisting in his head.
In the first interview of him as a United player, Malacia expressed his ambition to join M16.
He said: “I have something to look up to because [other Dutch players] did great over here and I want to be part of that [list of] Dutch people who will be great.”
He also revealed that van Persie waxed lyrical about his time in Manchester, praising both the club and the city.
“I played with Robin and spoke in the past with him about his experience in Manchester. He said they are the biggest club, and the feeling was good, and he loved it here.”
Van Persie was the captain of Feyenoord when Malacia became a part of the first team as a teenager in 2017.
“He knows a lot about football,” said the left-back. “He loves the game. I think he breathes the game, so when you talk with him there is so much passion about football, and I think that [carries] over to the other players.”
Malacia also put forward the details of an interesting conversation with Edgar Davids, the former Ajax and Juventus star, who is the coach of the Dutch national team.
Manchester United commented that they think that their signing has been compared to Oranje legend Davids, due to his tenacity on the pitch.
When Malcia was questioned about this, the 22-year-old said: “I spoke with him [Davids] at the national team, and he said, ‘you’re not on my level yet but if you work with me and play football with me you will get there.”
Malacia reunites him with Tahith Chong after moving to Manchester United, a player whom he played with at youth level for Feyenoord.
“I always had contact with Tahith after he moved to England,” said Malacia. “It was always a good feeling here.”
