SA20 player Auction highlights 2022: Full team squad, players unsold and sold so far: SA20 recently announced a league with IPL franchise owners purchasing teams. South Africa T20 is all set for its inaugural season. The league adopted the IPL model. On 19 September 2022, the first set of auctions took place. So far, the teams have acquired major players and filled positions in their squad. Many star players are bought by teams and some go unsold.
The batting sensation of SA Tristan Stubbs got a whooping 9.2 million rand(US$ 500,000) from Sunrisers Eastern Cape. While South Africa T20 Captain goes unsold. Teams are given a salary cap of R 34 million( USD 1.9 million) to complete the squad.
The EL Classico of IPL Mumbai Indians and CSK have teams in SA20 – MI CapeTown and Johannesburg Super Kings. Both the teams have bought their experience in SA20 and bidding great for the inaugural league season.
