With the victory, Pérez reduced Verstappen’s lead in the standings by six points. They each have two victories this season.

On Sunday, Sergio Pérez beat teammate Max Verstappen to the Azerbaijan Grand Prix victory, adding it to the sprint he won the day before, as Red Bull continued its winning streak through 2023.

After Verstappen entered the race a lap earlier, Pérez saved time by pitting during a safety car period and took the lead.

Over the radio, Pérez addressed his team, “Well done guys, we dominated this weekend.” Guys, we are fighting.

Verstappen began second behind Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc yet cleared past him on the long beginning completion directly toward the finish of lap 3, the primary lap on which drivers were permitted to utilize the DRS surpass help framework on the back wing.

It was a duplicate of the pass Pérez made on Leclerc while heading to coming out on top in the run race Saturday. After Verstappen took the lead on Sunday.

Pérez took second with a similar pass on Leclerc after only two laps, proving Red Bull’s dominance in Formula One.

Pérez benefited when a mishap by Nyck de Vries drew out the well-being vehicle after his AlphaTauri slid off the track with a messed up suspension.

Soon after Verstappen had pitted from the lead. Pérez and Leclerc came out ahead of Verstappen thanks to the safety car, which reduced the amount of time they had to stop.

From that point onward, the two Red Bull drivers pulled away from the pack and traveled to a clear success.

Red Bull has won each of the four thousand Prix races this season and the run in Baku on Saturday.

After a poor start to the year, Leclerc finished third to continue his recovery and stated that the Red Bulls had been “in another league” for race pace.

With the victory, Pérez reduced Verstappen’s lead in the standings by six points. They have won two races this season between them.

But Pérez lost ground at the final race in Australia when he finished fifth after sliding off the track in qualifying.

Pérez is the main driver to win in Baku at least a few times and has four platform wraps up in his last five races there.

The Mexican driver made fun of the fact that, including Saturday’s sprint, he had won “two and a half” races in Azerbaijan.

“What will be will be,” Verstappen said of his outcome, depicting the security vehicle timing as “unfortunate.”

Lance Stroll’s second Aston Martin finished seventh, ahead of George Russell, Hamilton’s teammate, with McLaren’s Lando Norris and AlphaTauri’s Yuki Tsunoda finishing ninth and 10th, respectively.
