Shubman Gill Achieves Rare Record Against West Indies In 2nd ODI- During the second ODI against West Indies at Barbados, the Indian team suffered a defeat of 6 wickets. The team’s performance was disappointing both in their bowling and batting. West Indies batted first, but their innings ended at 181 runs in 40.5 overs.

Only Kishan (scoring 55) and Shubman Gill (scoring 34) managed to perform well among the Indian batsmen. The rest of the team failed to leave a mark. India’s bowling performance was also lackluster, and West Indies easily chased down the target of 182 runs, losing only 4 wickets. Captain Hope and Carty (scoring 48) were the top performers among the West Indies batsmen.

Although India lost the match, their star opener Shubman Gill achieved a rare feat by creating a world record as the highest run scorer after 26 innings in ODIs. Gill has played 26 matches so far and scored 1352 runs, overtaking Pakistan captain Babar Azam who scored 1322 runs in his first 26 innings. It’s worth noting that Babar Azam had previously broken the world record.

After his impressive performance in the 2nd ODI, Gill surpassed Babar in the list of batters with the most runs after 26 innings in the 50-over format. Babar had 1322 runs in his first 26 ODI innings, while Gill has now accumulated 1352 runs. The top 5 batters in this list include Jonathan Trott from England with 1303 runs, Fakhar Zaman from Pakistan with 1275 runs, and Rassie van der Dussen from South Africa with 1267 runs, besides Babar and Gill.

On Saturday, West Indies captain Shai Hope led his team to a six-wicket victory over India in the second One-Day International at Kensington Oval in Barbados. Hope played a crucial role in the victory, remaining unbeaten on 63 runs and forming an unbroken fifth-wicket partnership of 91 runs with Keacy Carty. The win also ended a nine-match losing streak against India in ODIs that had lasted for four years.

West Indies bowlers made great use of the helpful pitch and India’s unconvincing batting effort,

dismissing them for 181 runs in 40.5 overs.

The Caribbean side made a quick recovery after their disappointing five-wicket defeat in the first

match at the same venue on Thursday.

This win has paved the way for the series decider on Tuesday, which will take place at the Brian Lara

Stadium in Trinidad. Stadium in Trinidad.

During his time on the field, Gill accomplished the achievement of scoring 2500 runs while playing for

    India in international cricket.

At present, he has amassed a total of 2520 runs from 65 innings in different formats.
