Hip-hop genius Kanye West, who is currently receiving harsh criticism for his slew of antisemitic remarks, has also in the past offended members of the black community. The multiple Grammy winner went to the TMZ newsroom in 2018 and spoke about some contentious topics there. He was spotted discussing his choice to wear the “Make America Great Again” cap.
He is a fervent fan of the previous president, Donald Trump. The native of Chicago made a public declaration of love for the 45th US President. West would make a crude remark about slavery while referring to himself as much more than just an artist or a member of the black community, which would cause a huge uproar.
Soon after, West started a conversation with the TMZ team, asking the people sitting at their desks if he was feeling or thinking freely. During this time, a worker called Van expressed his offense at the American rapper’s remark that “Slavery is a choice.” Things between the two became heated, and West eventually walked over to Van’s desk and apologized.
Nevertheless, Ye’s remark infuriated a lot of people, including his close buddy and the late NBA great Kobe Bryant. The Black Mamba was as horrified by the Donda maker’s comments as the majority of us when asked for his opinion.
Kobe Bryant reacted angrily to Kanye West’s remarks.
Kobe, one of the most intelligent figures in sports, had utterly detested Ye’s remarks, saying the following. I was wondering, “What the heck are you talking about?,” along with everyone else in the room. One of the things about our nation is that you may say whatever you want. That is one of the wonderful things about living in a democracy.
Conversely, you must also consider the comments that follow because everyone has the right to express their opinions. Like everyone else, I was shocked, but I believe he is one of those entertainers who is constantly growing; he is constantly challenging not us as people but really himself. He is constantly asking himself questions.
I simply accept it as is and completely disagree. The Mamba undoubtedly would have reacted similarly to Ye’s anti-Semitic remarks if he had been present today. The late Kobe Bryant and Kanye West were great friends. West and Kobe, two titans in their own areas, were close friends. So, it was easy to imagine the sorrow the American rapper felt upon learning of the tragic death of the Lakers MVP.
