England was bowled out for 152 runs in 52.4 overs when batting first. Washington Sundar and Yash Dayal each took two wickets, but Akash Deep was India A’s standout bowler with statistics of 4/46. Saurabh Kumar and Arshdeep Singh were content with one wicket apiece.

On Thursday, January 25, Sarfaraz Khan shone as India A’s batsman against the England Lions on Day 2 of the ongoing second unofficial Test in Ahmedabad.
The right-handed hitter reached his 14th first-class ton, demonstrating his ongoing outstanding form. In just 89 balls, he reached his century after India had lost four wickets for 22 runs in short succession.
Sarfaraz had just made 96 runs in the England Lions warm-up match, and he would go on to score four and fifty-five runs in the first unofficial Test. Last month, the 26-year-old made a comeback against South Africa A, scoring 68 and 34.
In the 2022–23 Ranji Trophy, the Mumbai batsman scored 556 runs at an average of 92.66 in nine innings, including three hundreds. His nine hundred and 982 runs in nine innings at an average of 122.75 made him the 2021–2022 Ranji season’s top run scorer.
In first-class cricket, Sarfaraz has scored 3751 runs at an average of 68.20 over 65 innings, with 13 tons and 11 half-centuries. But the middle-order hitter hasn’t played for India yet.
Sarfaraz Khan was praised by fans on X (formerly Twitter), while some criticized the selectors for failing to include him in the first two Tests of the current series against England.
