T20I rankings see an uptick in the performances of Hasaranga, Kohli, and Bhuvneshwar following their success in the Asia Cup. After doing well at the recent Asia Cup in the UAE, Wanindu Hasaranga, Virat Kohli, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar moved big time in the latest ICC T20I rankings for men.
Hasaranga Supremacy
Wanindu Hasaranga moved up three spots to sixth on the bowlers’ table after taking the second most wickets, behind Bhuvneshwar, in Sri Lanka’s sixth Asia Cup win. Moreover, he was named the Player of the Tournament in Asia Cup 2022 and took nine wickets at a rate of 7.39 runs per over.
He also made important contributions with the bat. In the final, he hit 36 runs in 21 balls, which helped Sri Lanka reach a strong total that they were able to defend well. That helped him move up seven spots on the allrounders’ chart, putting him at No. 4.
King Kohli rises
Kohli, on the other hand, has moved up 14 spots and is now No. 15 on the batters’ table. The Asia Cup, where he scored 276 runs in five innings with an average of 92.00 and a strike rate of 147.59, was a big reason for his rise.
During the tournament, he also got his first T20I century, an unbeaten 122 against Afghanistan. This was his first century in any format in 1020 days. Kohli’s total of runs was close to Mohammad Rizwan’s total of 281. However, Rizwan stayed on top of the batters’ table. Aiden Markram took the No. 2 spot away from Babar Azam, who had a terrible Asia Cup with the bat.
Bhuvi’s feat
Bhuvneshwar, who took the most wickets (11) at the Asia Cup, also made a lot of progress. He moved from 11th to seventh place among bowlers, moving into the top ten.

Steven Smith moved up 13 spots to be the tenth best batter in ODIs after helping Australia beat New Zealand 3-0 at home. Mitchell Starc moved up three spots and into the top ten bowlers after taking six wickets in three games. He is now ninth. Matt Henry also moved up one spot to take the eighth spot after taking five wickets in two games. Trent Boult stayed at the top of the list because he took the most wickets in the series (10).
