The 2021 ATP Tournaments of the Year will be held in Vienna, Doha, and Indian Wells.

The 2021 ATP Tournaments of the Year will be held in Vienna, Doha, and Indian Wells. The Erste Bank Open, which won for the first time, received the ATP 500 Tournament of the Year award. The indoor hard court, which was first played in 1974, consistently draws the greatest players in the world to Vienna in October. For the 2021 edition, approximately 60,000 spectators came to the Stadthalle and the new, second match venue “Tennis 2 Go” on the grounds of the Wiener Eislaufverein in the heart of Vienna, even during COVID-19-affected days.

The 2021 ATP Tournaments of the Year will be held in Vienna, Doha, and Indian Wells.

The Erste Bank Open was chosen as the ATP 500 tournament of the year for the first time in its long history, which tournament director Herwig Straka expressed his gratitude for. ‘This is a recognition for the entire crew, which works incredibly hard to plan and carry out the event each year. We continuously work to make the Erste Bank Open better and more innovative, such as this year’s introduction of the “Tennis 2 Go” project, in order to provide players and spectators with the best tennis and entertainment possible.‘

The Qatar ExxonMobil Open wins the Tournament of the Year award for a record fourth time overall in the ATP 250 division (2015, 2017, 2019). Doha has established excellent standards from its beginning in 1993, and under the direction of former player Karim Alami, the competition continues to enhance its reputation for its first-rate venue, top-notch hospitality, and friendly supporters.

Tournament Director Karim Alami said, “On behalf of the Qatar Tennis Federation and the entire staff engaged in the event, I want to express how thrilled we are to be picked as the ATP 250 Tournament of the Year once again…..Over the years, we have worked to deliver an event that satisfies the highest organizational requirements, while offering players and their support teams, officials, guests, and spectators welcoming surroundings and a focus on the little things that help them “feel at home” while in Doha.‘

“The fact that we have now won the ATP 250 event award four times in the past seven years shows that we have been successful in constantly upholding those standards. It is an enormous honor that the ATP athletes continue to give this award as a way of expressing their gratitude for everyone’s contributions to the event.’
He further adds, ‘None of this would be possible without the ongoing support from ExxonMobil, our title sponsor, as well as our other esteemed sponsors, the Qatar Tennis Federation Board of Directors, the State of Qatar institutions and organizations, and the ATP.‘
