After an outstanding Ashes campaign, England all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt is currently the best hitter in ODI cricket. She finished with 271 runs at an average of 135.50 in the three-match WODI series between England and rival Australia. Which England won 2-1.
With an overall rating of 803 points, Sciver-Brunt passed Australian batter Beth Mooney to take the top spot in women’s ODI cricket. This is the second-highest total ever. Meg Lanning, the captain of Australia, currently owns the record with 873 points.
The top-ranked all-rounder in the format is Nat Sciver-Brunt. The 30-year-old may look back on this year as one to cherish. She was equally as effective in England’s historic Ashes series against Australia as she was in the Mumbai Indians’ (MI) victory in the first Women’s Premier League (WPL).
The most recent change in the rankings moves Mooney up to No. 3. The left-handed batsman scored fifty runs in the first One Day International but did not contribute to the runs for the rest of the series. Her participation in the Ashes was her first cricket match since suffering a serious injury that ended her WPL season after the first game.
The current runner-up is Chamari Atapaththu, the captain of Sri Lanka. During the ODI series against New Zealand, the 33-year-old hit an undefeated 140 and 108 runs, although he also went for a duck.
England’s Sophie Ecclestone continues to be ranked first among bowlers. In the Ashes’ three-match WODI series, the left-arm spinner took five wickets.
