    The Significance Of The Letter “E”: The Commonwealth Games 2022 are slated to commence on July 28 in Birmingham, England. Indian Women’s T20 Cricket team will make its debut at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Edgbaston Stadium. The letter “e” at Edgbaston has caught the netizen’s eye ahead of the games. Many people have noticed that the letter ‘e’ is everywhere on the premises of Edgbaston.

    The letter ‘e’ can be seen at the entrance, on cycle stands, and food items. Even the floodlights on the ground are designed in the shape of the letter ‘e’. Edgbaston is printed on the T-shirts of employees with the letter ‘e’ properly emphasized. Even food items like muffins have the letter ‘e’ written on them. This has caused a great sense of curiosity amongst netizens and generated tremendous buzz on Twitter. 

    The intriguing letter ‘e’ signifies ‘Edgbaston’. This stadium is one of the most iconic cricket stadiums in the world and has a capacity of close to 25,000 spectators.

    This year’s Commonwealth Games are all over the news as Cricket is making its debut at the games. The renowned Commonwealth Games will feature Women’s T20 cricket for the first time in the history of cricket.

    Edgbaston has registered glorious history as it has hosted some memorable matches over the years.

    Brian Lara scored his world-record of 501 runs for Warwickshire against Durham in 1994.

    The ground hosted the first Women’s World Cup final in 1973 in which England won against Australia.

    This location hosted the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy final in which India defeated England under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

    The Indian team recently defeated England by 49 runs in the second T20I this location hosted. They grabbed a commanding 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

    Virat Kohli, the Indian cricketer, scored 149 in the first innings and also 51 in the second. He recorded his first Test century on English soil in 2018.

    England was defeated by the Indian squad, led by Mohammad Azharuddin, by 63 runs in the 1999 ICC World Cup.

    Indian fans are excited to see the Indian Women’s team perform well where the men’s squad has in the past.

    The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently announced the Indian squad for the Commonwealth Games 2022. The Indian Women’s Cricket team will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur, and star batter Smriti Mandhana will serve as the vice-captain. India will begin their Commonwealth Games campaign by facing Australia on the 29th of July 2022. The final match of the T20 cricket event will be played on the 7th of August 2022.
